My journey to England in June 2017 started with an unexpected surprise. I could hardly believe my ear when I heard cabin attendant announcing that “We are now approaching Heathrow airport and current temperature in London is 33 degrees”. It should have been around 20 degrees now. .. I was planning to escape from the hot and humid Japan and enjoy a brief summer vacation, but I wonder if I can travel comfortably in such heat. .. ..
As soon as getting off the ariplane, I felt being surrounded by hot air. I checked weather report at the corner of baggage claim then find that temperature after tomorrow would be about 20 degree. It seems it is extraordinarily hot today. I was very relieved! Let’s take a bus to London city.
Arriving at the hotel near Victoria Station, I went out to explore surrouding area, but after short walk I felt dizzy by the heat… Let’s go to bed early today to prepare for tomorrow’s day trip to Edinburgh.
As soon as I arrived at the center of Edinburgh, I saw characteristic scenery of Scotland one after anohter. When I saw people in traditional costume playing bagpipes on the street, I realized that I am in Scotland now.
I went to Calton Hill, one of the place I was looking forward to see breathtaking landscape. I was all alone on the hill overlooking Edinburgh city.
